NEARBY ATTRACTIONS
Anagni is a medieval city situated on a rocky spur dominating “the Valley of the Sacco” and surrounded by impressive polygonal walls.
The city is famous mainly because it is the residence and birthplace of four popes: Innocent III, Alexander IV, Gregory IX, and Boniface VIII, whom proclaimed the first Jubilee in 1300. For this Anagni is called the "City of Popes". In particular, the name of Anagni is related to the events of Boniface VIII and the episode known as the “Slap of Anagni”.
